The challenge involves scaling Pen-y-ghent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m), part of the Pennine range in the Yorkshire Dales, in under 12 hours.
The route is 24 miles long and includes 5200ft of ascent. It’s not for the faint hearted, so please only apply if you believe your fitness
levels are adequate enough to complete the route in time and as part of a group.
We’ll be staying in bunk house accommodation in Horton-in-Ribblesdale, where the route begins. The plan at present is to travel up to Yorkshire on Friday 2nd March (PM), complete the walk on Saturday, and return to London on Sunday 4th.
The weekend is projected to cost max £80. This covers:
Registration for the challenge (incl. a certificate upon completion)
2 nights accommodation
1 x breakfast
1 x dinner
We have capacity to take 15 people with us. Therefore, we will be selecting participants on a first-come-first-served basis, subject to evidence of reasonable fitness (e.g. hikes previously completed or regular activity levels/exercise).
Applications will open on Wednesday 22nd November at 18.00, via a link we will email out to the KCLWMS mailing list - get in touch if you need to subscribe.
Please check your junk mail, as we’ve found our emails sometimes get diverted there.
Successful applicants will need to pay a £30 non refundable deposit to secure their place, and must have KCLWMS membership.
