Woking Christmas Light Switch-On 2017

Legendary British TV star, presenter and singer Shane Richie has been confirmed for Woking Shopping’s Christmas light switch-on taking place on Thursday 23 November in Jubilee Square.

Shane, renowned for his role as Alfie Moon in Eastenders, is set to star in the New Victoria Theatre’s pantomime Robin

Hood this year.

Also set to wow on centre stage is magical live music, movement and lighting spectacular Spark! The mysterious characters perform using light and sound and will transform the switch on stage.

Heroic pups Chase and Marshall from PAW Patrol will be entertaining crowds during a special story time session, led by a narrator. They’ll also be appearing at various intervals throughout the day.

Pop sensation Charlie Healy, best known for being a finalist on The X Factor in boyband The Risk, will also be performing his latest hits, including popular single “Playground”.

As well as TV stars and pop stars taking the stage, none other than the big man himself, Father Christmas will be greeting guests and wishing them a Merry Christmas, Santa will also be joined around the mall by various other Christmas characters.

Christmas walkaround characters will also be making their way around the centre so be sure to have your camera at the ready to get some truly festive shots.

Activity starts on the main stage from 2pm with local choirs, dance troops and community groups singing and performing. For full stage timings please refer to the website closer to the event.

Woking Shopping recommends arriving in Jubilee Square as early as possible to avoid disappointment and large queues. Headline activity will be taking place from 5.30pm.

Shoppers will be able to shop until 8pm throughout the centre.
