Inspired by a true story and based on the hit movie, Made in Dagenham is an uplifting new British musical comedy about friendship, love and the importance of fighting for what is right.
Made in Dagenham is based on the real life strike in 1968 when female sewing machinists at the Ford factory in Dagenham
campaigned against a reduction in their pay grade and in doing so took on the company and the unions in a fight for what is right.
The decision taken by the women to go on strike on 7th June 1968 halted all car production. The strike ended three weeks later when the women had their pay increased to 8% below that of men on B grade. Their fight is recognised for its contribution to the passing of the 1970 Equal Pay Act, which came into force in 1975.
Uplifting, touching and funny and with a rousing musical score, Made in Dagenham shows how ordinary people can do extraordinary things when they stand together.
