Oxford University Fencing Club would like to warmly welcome all Oxford and Cambridge competitors, club members, coaches, friends, family and supporters to the 111th Varsity Fencing Match between Oxford and Cambridge on Saturday 10th March 2018 in Examination Schools, Oxford.
As always it promises to
be a spectacular and highly enjoyable event and Olympian and Britain’s top fencer Richard Kruse will be in attendance as a referee.
**Information for spectators**:
Doors will open to the public at 9:15am with the Women's Blues and Men's Assassins matches kicking off at 10am. Men's Blues and Women's Assassins will follow in the afternoon at approximately 1:15pm.
There is no need to reserve tickets; entry is free and souvenir programmes will be available on the day. Matches will be streamed live - watch this space for a link to the live stream!
Each match, a spectacle in its own right, will see 12 fencers from each university fighting up to 135 hits in a thrilling relay format to win a coveted trophy.
As per tradition, the Varsity Match will be held in Oxford’s Examination Schools. This beautiful and historic venue provides the perfect backdrop to these prestigious matches whilst also offering spectators the chance to view two matches simultaneously within a single hall. The hall will feature large multimedia screens to provide additional information for spectators. Please check this event page and the website soon for precise timings of the day.
