Stress Management for Interpreters

This is one in a series of acclaimed training events organised by the APCI for practising interpreters.

Stress is the biggest plague of the 21st century, and self-employed interpreters certainly bear the brunt of it. There are no corporate style healthcare programmes, no wellness budgets, no company

gyms. How do you manage your stress? How do you cope when exposed to traumatic and stressful experience at work?

We would like to invite you to our CPD event where our speakers and participants can look at the stress management issues we as legal interpreters face on a day-to-day basis.

The event will be presented by Gabriela Bocanete, MITI, MCIoL, Conference Interpreter, ATA-Certified Translator, Interpreter, Trainer, Certified Yoga Teacher and James Miles, MSc(R), Chairperson of North West London Transcendental Meditation Centre.
The event will begin at 2.00 with a talk on Breathe and change your life – Stress management for Interpreters. Refreshments will be served at 3.00. The afternoon will continue at 3.30 with a talk on the Benefits of Transcendental Meditation for interpreters - The mind experiences raised alertness while the body gets profound rest and with this come the benefits of clearer thinking, more energy, more efficiency and more creativity in daily life.

This event will primarily be of interest to practising public service interpreters.

The cost of this event is £15.00 for APCI members and £25.00 for non-members, which is tax-deductible, and it counts towards your CPD record for the year. If you have a CPD record we will be happy to stamp it. Attendance certificates will be available.
There is certain to be heavy demand for tickets so we suggest that you book as soon as possible.
