This year we have a few changes, including a brand new venue – St Mary's Stadium, home of Southampton Football Club.
festival, thanks to the new venue, shall have a new layout with something for everyone. With all cask beers on one bar in the centre of the venue, finding your choices will be made easier than ever. On either side of this bar will be cider and bottle bars. One end of this bar shall have a stage and dance area (although dancing is not compulsory) for you to enjoy a wide range of live music throughout the festival. The opposite end of the venue shall accommodate those who wish to have a quiet pint and a chat with their friends, with plenty of seating in our ‘quiet area’.
This year we have up to 70 high quality cask ales, featuring a range of styles, sourced from a range of high quality breweries, both established and up and coming, local and national. Check the Beers section of the website for more details.
Supplementing this will be a range of up to 30 popular ciders and Perries, something for everyone's taste!
Being hosted in a city with international links, we have matched this with an international bottled beer bar, expertly sourced and run by Southampton's newest and dynamic brasserie, Belgium & Blues.
12 high quality Bands and musical acts have been sourced by one of Southampton's premier music venues, the Frog & Frigate. With a range of styles, the festival will have 4 bands/acts playing in both afternoon sessions and 2 headlining each evening session. With big names such as Matt Black, The Paper Trains, Just Millie, and The Villanovas. Check out the Entertainment link on the website for a full list.
We welcome sponsorship this year from Southampton's newest microbrewery, The London Road Brew House; Southampton's award winning microbrewery, The Dancing Man; and celebrating 30 years of successful quality brewing, Hop Back Brewery. All of which will be show casing their beers at this festival.
With a new venue, we are pleased to be offering LOTS more seating, one level access, and a fully air conditioned venue. All common customer requests from previous festivals.
We are also pleased to welcome back festival favourites Oddfellow chocolates (previously Merry Berry) and Olives and Things. Both will be selling their popular handmade chocolates and Mediterranean snacks.
Tickets this year can be purchased through the link provided or from our ticket partners – Dancing Man, Belgium & Blues, Bitter Virtue, The Guide Dog, The Tipsy Pig (Romsey), and Ebenezer's (Hythe). How about popping out to these venues to enjoy a pint or 2/ purchasing some quality bottles to take home while buying your tickets?
Getting here? With over 30,000 football fans easily reaching the venue each match day, the venue has excellent public transport links, being on BlueStar, First and Wheelers bus links, a 20 minute walk from the Southampton Central Railway Station, and a short walk to the Itchen Bridge and Woolston railway station; the venue is connected not only to the residents of Southampton, but Hampshire, the South of England, and beyond!
We hope you will like our new changes and we look forward to welcoming you to our friendly beer festival!
