We are running the River Thames Half Marathon for RefuAid in a couple of weeks. We have been training HAM but 13.1 miles is still very very far.
RefuAid is a small charity that encourages a focus on alternatives to protracted refugee camps and ensures
host communities are sufficiently supported to provide essential services and give assistance to refugee communities.
They have recently launched their Equal Access Loan project: an interest-free lending program dedicated to helping refugees return to professional work in the UK.
Without the funds to transfer qualification and re-qualify in the UK many people find themselves stuck in survival jobs where they are often exploited. This can have a devastating impact on families and individuals who have sought asylum here, both financially and mentally. The Equal Access Loan provides a practical solution to this problem.
Sophie's *company* has generously agreed to match half of our donation total so whatever you can give, no matter how big or small, really will go further than you think.
