Rider Analysis – Simulator Sessions
Sue is one of the leading teachers on the Racewood riding simulators with access to Dressage simulators within the UK.
Sue works very much on establishing
a Classical position, purely as anatomically that is what makes sense; the body is positioned in a way which allows it work most efficiently with no one muscle group dominating or pulling the body out of alignment.
Simulator sessions are generally 45 minutes long during which time your position is assessed, incorrect muscle recruitment patterns and asymmetries identified and begun to be corrected, with appropriate Pilates-based exercises prescribed for you to work on between sessions.
Group bookings for the simulators are an excellent teaching scenario; you learn as you watch, can work through exercises as a group and have the opportunity to try new techniques off the ‘horse’ to improve your work in the saddle.
In addition to the Dressage simulators Sue is extremely privileged to have access to one of only two state-of-the-art Eventing simulators based in the UK.
These superb simulators allow riders to work on all three phases of your eventing. They allow you to ride the same advanced dressage movements as the standard Dressage simulator but also enable you to ride show jumping grids, full rounds of show jumping courses and complete 20+ jump cross country courses at Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels (up to approximate 1.3metres).
Sue is often referred to as ‘the missing link’ in clients ridden tuition – she explains to the rider how to physically achieve what riding instructors are asking them to perform and is supported in her work by many well renowned dressage and jumping instructors around the country.
