Throughout the winter I've been in the studio working on solo improvisation practices, I'll share some of these, and we'll see experimentally how they can be used (or maybe can't!) in a group improvisation
environment. Specific current interests are on the relationship and transitions between pathways, phrasing and movements. There'll be an overarching attitude that generating movement is not the end point of improvisation, but rather sharp and articulate dancing that is relevant to the situation and communicative to all participants and audience.
I'm sure my long term interests of locomotion, articulations and running round in circles will all make an appearance. For those who usually come to my floorwork/Flying Low classes I assure you there'll be lots of full bodied dancing!
