The wedding will take place at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, which is a “slightly smaller venue” than Westminster Abbey, where Kate Middleton and Prince William were married in April 2011. St. George’s Chapel is a very traditional wedding venue for the royals, dating back over 500 years; recently,
Harry’s uncle, Prince Edward, married Sophie Rhys-Jones at the chapel in 1999.
Harry and Meghan also said they are “extremely grateful for the warm response” to the news of their engagement, and are “delighted that the beautiful grounds of Windsor Castle are where they will start their married life.”
