We welcome everyone to join us for the 9th annual opening celebrations of the salmon season on Stirling Council Fisheries.
The parade led by Doune and Deanston pipe band will leave Ancaster Square at 09:15.
Anglers are welcomed to fish free of charge on opening day (Thursday 1st February). Due to
the large volume of anglers we expect no permits will be issued however all participants will have the legal permission of Stirling Council to fish.
Andrew Toft will be in attendance to deliver his masterclass in all aspects of spey casting. Fly tying demonstrations will happen throughout the day from John Richardson of Franc N Snaelda and Ali Hutchens of Patridge of Redditch. We will also have come and try sections for fly tying and fishing. There will also be in a lot of exciting exhibitors in offer.
Drams of Deanston whisky will be on offer from out sponsors Deanston Distillery and free hot pies and hot drinks will be available from our sponsors Mhor.
If free fishing, fresh air, hot pies, shortbread and whisky sound appeal to you why not join us on the 1st and help us celebrate the start of another season on Stirling Council Fisheries.
