Liz Watt’s Exhibition: Poetry Writing Workshop

In association with Liz Watts’ exhibition, Beached, come along to Dawn Gorman’s Poetry Writing Workshop (maximum 10 participants) where the focus will be on ekphrastic writing – poems stimulated by the innovative, inspiring work in Liz’s exhibition.

Date: Friday 13th April 2018
Time: 10am – 1pm

£18 per person (including refreshments and the chance to perform at April 27th event)
Requirements: Suitable for all levels and experience. Please bring a notebook and pen.

The workshop will include a warm-up writing activity and several writing exercises to support poets to explore ways to respond to Liz’s work and themes in words. The writing activities will take place in both the exhibition space itself and in the Valentine Clays boardroom, and there will be a short tea/coffee break. The session will be followed by the opportunity to take part in an informal meet-the-artist chat with Liz in the exhibition space, where they can ask her about themes, methods etc.

Participants in this workshop will also receive FREE entry to the evening reading event on Friday April 27th, at which they will be invited to read one or two poems arising from the workshop, alongside the evening’s guest poet, Cora Greenhill. Dawn will also read some of her own work at this event. See separate listing for full details.
