Childhood cancer is rare. Children develop different types of cancer than adults but they often have the same types of treatments.
Every day around 11 young people in the UK are diagnosed with cancer*. But despite improving survival rates, cancer is the leading cause of death from disease in young people.
children's cancers are biologically very different from adult cancers, so finding better treatments and setting up clinical trials needs a different approach.
Treatment can have very debilitating side-effects for young people that can sadly last long into adult life, so finding kinder treatments is vital.
Coming down and supporting this event for the 3rd Year will help Cancer Research find kinder Treatments for these children. Previous events have raised nearly £2000.
