An evening with Antony Blake, Swiss Tony, Long Distance Tony, Climbing Tony, Formally Fat Tony
- A 50km ride (come along or join us after at 18:30)
- A talk about European Climbs
- Lasagna and Beer
- Chat through European conquests you're planning yourself
We are delighted to announce that friend of
the shop and cyclist Antony Blake has agreed to come and share his experiences, thoughts and tips on riding to the summits of Europe’s top 50 climbs well before his 50th birthday. His goal of 50 climbs across Europe by his 50th birthday seemed at impossibility at times. Armed with his love of Steel bikes, a mediocre beard and a lot of passion his dream became a reality.
He will share the fascinating places he’s been, the stories he’ll tell, the anecdotes, the friends and members of our own shop who have shared in this adventure and the pictures he has captured from a cleats-eye-view. His thoughts are to inspire people into the mountains and Antony will share as much about the events that got him on a bike as the ones that nearly made him stop. All the ascents into often snow peaked summits will become a book later this year.
Please join us for the evening to relive some of your own alpine experiences and to perhaps use the event for fact finding as you prepare your 2018 bucket lists. Antony realised and delivered on a dream, his talk will hopefully encourage and motivate more of us into the lesser known parts of the European cycle scene.
We will have a short late ride with lights at 4.30-5pm for an hour or so and then finished off with pasta and beer for£5 / head to cover hospitality
