Get the scoop on poop at Life this February half-term, as we doo-doo all things poo. It’s icky fun, but jam-packed with science. And remember that everything in the Science Centre is included in your ticket.
Visit the Science Theatre for Number 2 – the poo show to learn about human and animal digestion,
with live demos that include a firing hippo bum, and the physics of toilets; take part in an experiment on pee, poo and paper; and create and invent with toilet roll tubes in the Making Space.
Keep your eyes peeled for our Science Buskers, whose bag of tricks will include real fossilised dinosaur poo. In the Dino Jaws exhibition you can also see a massive pile of (fake) dino poo – a real eye-opener into how much waste these creatures produced.
Test your mind over matter in the Brain Zone, where you’ll find a toilet bowl water fountain; logically you know the water is clean, but can you convince yourself to take a drink?
Your ticket also includes the 4D Motion Ride, showing Polar Express Journey to the North Pole*, shows in the planetarium and the Young Explorers’ Zone – specially designed for under 7s. Make a day of it with a whirl on the outdoor ice rink**.
With everything inside Life Science Centre included in your Science Centre ticket, you don’t need to be ‘flush’ to enjoy a full day out this half-term!
From Monday 12 – Friday 16 February the Science Centre will open at the earlier time of 9am.
* You must be at least 1.2 metres in height to use the 4D Motion Ride.
** Separate prices apply for ice skating. The rink closes on 18 February.
