Be In Birkenhead Festival 2018

The ‘Be in Birkenhead Family Festival’ is coming again to Hamilton Square, Birkenhead on Thursday 26th July 2018! Quickly becoming one of the biggest and best free local events - this year is planned to be the most memorable to date...

Birkenhead BID's free one-day family festival makes its return this

July, taking over the iconic Hamilton Square in Birkenhead this event will showcase some of Wirral’s best small businesses and provide a fun filled day of family entertainment, stalls, shows, tours and talks plus fair ground attractions and a meet and greet with our local emergency service providers.

Last year’s event was a huge success and this was based around the 1st inaugural event the year before (2016) which too was a great success and its impact on the area has since been rewarded by winning some awards

This year, visitors will once again be able board Wirral Transport Museum & Heritage Tramway's lovingly restored vintage buses – the ‘Birkenhead Blues’ – and enjoy summer refreshments on the Square with a number of locally sourced food stalls. There will also be children’s rides, craft stalls and face painting.

On the day there will be live outside broadcasts and live entertainment on the main stage at various times through-out the day, while craft and vintage stalls will offer scented candles, cosmetics, hand-made jewelry, and antiques. On the day, visitors will also be able to choose from a variety of tasty treats from the stallholders.

There will be a host of activities to entertain children, all of which will be announced leading up to the event in the summer.

This is a free event and will be held between 11.30am and 4pm on Thursday 26th July 2018.

Last year the event attracted more than 6,500 visitors from across Wirral and the Liverpool City Region, brought vibrancy and life to Hamilton Square, increased footfall and retail sales in the town centre and encouraged the local community to get involved, visit and take pride in Birkenhead. The festival delivered a range of free family activities with the support of organisations including Wirral Tram Museum, Tranmere Rovers FC, Wirral Gymnastics Club, Wirral Council, Wirral Radio and Merseyrail and hopefully this year our supporter's list will be even bigger.
