With a phenomenal 300 million worldwide record sales, the Bay City Rollers along with The Beatles, are the only group to have

the word "mania" appended to their name, which conveys the amazing pandemonium that surrounded them!

The hysteria that they created in the mid-70's had to be seen to be believed! Championed by such magazines as Blue Jeans and Jackie, the band took to the stage in their calf-length tartan trousers, tartan shirts, platform boots and socks bearing images of their faces on the side. The tartan scarves waved by adoring fans are still very much part of the gig experience today as are the high energy performances that have wowed audiences worldwide for over three decades.

Described by the book of British Hit Singles & Albums as "the tartan teen sensations of Edinburgh" they were the most screamed at band of the era and became universal teen idols for a fervent period dubbed as Rollermania".

The classic line-up of Les McKeown, Eric Faulkner, Stuart Wood, Alan & Derek Longmuir recorded a re-make of "Remember (Sha La La La) w hich began their meteoric rise into the big time. Further Top 10 hits such as "Shang-A-Lang" "Summerlove Sensation" and "All Of Me Loves All Of You" followed rocketing them to the highest-selling act in the UK.

Sell-out tours followed along with a 20 week TV series "Shang-A-Lang".
in 1975 a cover of the Four Seasons "Bye Bye Baby" stayed at Number 1 in the charts for six weeks. becoming the biggest-selling single of the year, with the follow up "Give A Little Love" also reaching the top spot.
As their popularity swelled to superstardom, they hit Number 1 in the States with "Saturday Nights" and their "Bay City Rollers" album also went to Number 1.

Further hits followed in North America and their fame spread worldwide , achieving cult like status in Australia and the Far East. On April 26th every year, thousands of fans still congregate in Los Angeles to celebrate "Bay City Rollers Day".

With legendary singer Les McKeown still at the helm, a Rollers gig is a magical musical and visual trip down memory lane!

So, get out the flares, platform shoes and scarves and get ready to sing along and dance the night away to one of the best-loved pop bands of all time!!!
