We are delighted to host this free walking tour of Lurgan to mark the 151st anniversary of the birth of one of Lurgan's most famous sons: George William Russell (AE), journalist, artist, poet and economist.
Starting from Brownlow House at 11am local historians Jim Conway and David Weir will provide
a guided walking tour of sites in Lurgan connected with AE. Along the way we will discover the inspiration behind the spiritual subjects that comprise much of AE’s work.
As part of the walking tour a commemorative plaque marking the site of George Russell's former homestead on North Street (now demolished) will be unveiled at St Peters GAC Lurgan.
The walk will last approximately 90 minutes.
