Join the Resonance Arts and Music Community crew this Mad Friday for our latest 6 room extravaganza. Come along to feast your eyes on the fantastic artwork, watch some amazing performance and align your ears with the talented musicians and

DJs. From bands to poetry, dance music to performance arts and photography to live art, we will be displaying some of the finest talent that Yorkshire has to offer.

It’s impossible to ignore the time of year so please don your best outfits, whether it be traditional pagan-wear, Santa Suits or your corniest Christmas jumpers!

As always, Resonance is a non profit organisation and all profits from the event will be split between Cloth Cat and HYDE PARK UNITY DAY who both offer incredible support to local artists and disadvantaged people.

A Cloth Cat Christmas

After the roaring success of the Cloth Cat Warehouse at February’s Full Moon party, this passionate, proactive Leeds charity are back to host an assemblage of talented Yorkshire bands. From blues to soul, psychedelic to electronic and post rock to funk, there’s bound to be something to move your hips to. Get down early as bands start at 18:30.

The Barking Man World Grotto

Known for their upbeat and cultured events, this respected Leeds crew are back for another Resonance festival, this time taking on the monster that is the world music lounge. You can expect a range of flavours including Balkan, Bhangra, Belly Dancers and Klezmer. Starting the evening with a range of bands and moving on to some top quality world music DJs.

The Loving Lotus Cinema Sleigh

Take a break from the bustle of the other rooms in this haven dedicated to independent film and emerging performance artists from the across the UK. With an array of independent cinema from Loving Lotus, Anarchy Cinema and Elevate Young Minds, as well as live performance from the Resonance house poets and other artists, you'll be able to kick back, lounge it out and take in some thought provoking pieces.

Naughty or Nice Dungeon

Venture down to the infamous Beaver Works basement and step into our Erotic Art Exhibition and Rock Room. Featuring provocative, sexual photography and artwork from various local artists, this room is the perfect place to indulge your hedonism. To accompany this incredible array of beauty will be a selection of rock, metal, indie and alternative music genres from Europe and the rest of the world.

The Beats Bizarre

We are delighted to announce the addition of The Beats Bizarre crew to our Christmas collective. Infamous amongst the underground music scene in Leeds, The Beats Bizarre have been heavily involved such popular nights as Sunrise, Remedy and Riff Raff, showing prowess in both music selection and creating a visually tasty space. You can expect to feast your ears on the best of bass, breaks, electro, glitch, tech funk and electro swing (try to say that without getting excited).

The Brick House - Round Robin

For those of you who want to visit the good old days when the rave scene was at its peak and the music was solid, we have just the room for you. With a selection of House, Rave and Hard House, this collection will see DJs from popular crews such as Rejuvenation, Glass House and Feed The Love. Get your arms in the air, let your hair down and party like there’s no tomorrow.

The Bonfire

Pop outside and take a break near the bonfire as you take in the fire performance and some impressive live art. It’s going to be enough to give you a visual orgasm.

Hosted by the unique and entertaining all round talents of A Short Dark Stranger who will guide you through the evening and throw in some synthpop too for good measure!

Joseph Moore (Folk/Blues/Rock)

With his unique songwriting and powerful voice, Joseph Moore will take you to places with music full of musical and lyrical peaks and troughs, making for highly memorable songs.

Nag Champa (Soul/Funk)

Brace yourselves for one of the freshest genre bending jazz bands going. This 7-piece will take you on a journey of rambunctious ramifications which will leave you aching for more.

Fie Fie Fie (Alternate electro acoustic)

Combining huge guitars and soulful vocal harmonies with relentless bass and drums, Fie Fie Fie deliver sincerity and wit in equal measures and are bound to leave you screaming for more.

Dream Demolition Factory (Ambient Psychedelic)

This exciting electronic band come from the same cast as the likes of Joy Division or St Etienne. Featuring stunning electric guitar licks and powerful female vocals.

Surefire Affair -(Indie/Alt Rock)

With their catchy hooks and melodies, addictive guitar riffs, prominent bass licks and punchy, driving drum beats, Surefire Affair have a style that is as charismatic as it is captivating. Look out for this newly formed band tearing up the Leeds scene.

Flukey (Rock/Funk)

This full on high energy band is fronted by something of a barmy frontman. Playing a mixture of covers and originals, Flukey have a hard edge with a dance driven sound. They are bound to get you in the party spirit with their unstoppable dance floor fillers.

Fighter/Mage (Electronic Post Rock)

This two piece new electronic/post rock from Leeds. Their sounds put us in mind of 65daysofstatic and Mogwai.

The Barking Man World Grotto:

From East To East (Gypsy/Klezmer/Balkan)

Hailing from Poland and combining the traditional musics of eastern Europe and the Balkans, you may recognise some of their members from the infamous Mazurka Heartbeat. They have now expanded to include accordion, violin, guitar, double bass and more to take you on a mesmerising journey through the east. This one is bound to get those toes tapping.

Kibitz (Klezmer)

Kibitz perform energetic and soulful instrumental material taking influence from traditional Eastern European and Klezmer tunes.

Rory Scammell (Post mumford Hurdy Gurdy)

What Rory can't do on the hurdy gurdy isn't worth doing. The instrument is renowned for more traditional folk; having come to prominence during the 17th century. Rory brings it kicking and screaming right back to the 21st century, where, with the use of an array of electronics and pedals, can produce some breathtaking music.

SilverFinger Singh (HipHop/Banghra)

Known for his unique blend of HipHop, Bhangra & Reggae Music, Singh writes and performs conscious standout lyrics about his life and identity as a male Sikh. In live shows SilverFinger Singh has supported Ian Brown(The Stone Roses), Panjabi MC, The Sugarhill Gang, Zakh Knight, The Winachi Tribe, Celt Islam, Rob Green & Caution Collective, Karl Phillips And The Rejects, Tigerside &The Alpine Movement.

The Bums' Rush (Original and Classic Gypsy Folk)

Performing an array of folk classics, as well as their own vibrant compositions, the Bums' Rush will not only arouse your suspicions, tickle your curiosities, and fidget with your soft parts, but also get you stamping your feet, bellowing along, and cheering with undiminished joy when they finally get off the stage and leave you in peace.

Alice Nicholls (Alternative Anti Folk)

Refusing to be put into a box, this songwriter/multi-instrumentalist confuddles and delights her audiences by cramming as many genres as possible into her set-up. With song topics ranging from the political to the personal, the problematic, the peculiar and the downright weird, Alice Nicholls creates a musical and lyrical world that is entirely her own and will leave you dreamily reeling.
