Once again on Boxing Day, the beautiful Essex village of Moreton welcomes all of you to its traditional and somewhat unconventional games. The Two Moreton pubs, The White Hart and the Nag’s Head will compete in the Games’ fiftieth year in both a fun race and a tug-of-war across the Cripsey Brook, which
runs through the village. The long running village tradition is fun for all the family to watch.
Competition is especially fierce this year - not only because the Games celebrate their half-century this year, but because The Nag’s Head is keen to reclaim the cup from the four-years-in-a-row winners, The White Hart.
The Games will start from around 11.30 with both pubs open to welcome the crowds which are usually in their hundreds. A hog roast will be available at The White Hart as will hot drinks should you need something to warm you up!!
This is truly a wonderful day for all the family, so make sure you’re wrapped up and have your wellies at the ready to join in this 50-year tradition.
