Phillipa Coleman, Holly Anderson, Billy Brown, Carol Canty and I would like to invite you to join the 1st Annual National Fox Terrier Meet on Saturday 23rd of June at Chatsworth Park. Everyone (including other breeds) is most welcome on this easy 3 mile walk. (There are further walk options available
on the day please read Phillipa's posts for details. This is now added at the end of this post as well, please let Phillipa Coleman know if you would like to join this walk.)
Meet at Chatsworth main car park DE45 1PN (£4 parking fee for all day parking) near the Picnic area as the aim is to gather all participants at this point and to finish there with a picnic. The picnic area is near the adventure playground. We will then go to the Queen Mary Bower steps and walk from there at 11am.
The walk will take us to Baslow, which has a great pub, cafe and public toilets. Then back to Chatsworth Park and the Chatswoof steps for a photo opportunity followed by a picnic.
You are of course invited to bring your own picnic. There are limited tables and we suggest you bring blankets or chairs. There will be some cake sales to go with your picnic. All funds raised for Fox Terrier Rescue UK.
We would like to take the opportunity and ask all attending to please respect the Parks rule of keeping your dog/s on lead/s at all times. Many thanks in advance for your co-operation.
We would love to see you there, Tina, Carol, Billy, Holly and Philippa xxxxx
If you would like to do a longer walk then I’ll be setting off from the car park at Calton Lees (not the Garden centre car park) DE4 2NX if we meet at 10 for 10.15 set off then we can meet everyone else at Queen Mary Bower steps at 11am. Last time I parked there it was £3 for the day. (If you go into the car park please turn right to park and we’ll congregate on the grass at the far end, although I’m sure all the barking will help us all find each other!!)
The walk will add a total of 3 miles to the main event walk and will take us approximately 30/40 minutes each way. It is on a bit of an incline on the way down and if it’s wet can be a bit slippery in places!
Please let me know if you plan to do this add on so I know who to expect! Thanks
