0161 Festival 2017

0161 Festival 2017!

Website / Tickets - http://0161festival.com

It is an honour and a pleasure to bring you the next, and what will be our fourth edition of 0161 Festival, please read below to find out what we are about and new things to expect in 2017 and the changes we have made!

ABOUT;
We are

an anti-fascist D.I.Y. benefit festival that’s been running for the last few years to raise money for anti-fascist activists throughout Europe. With a huge variety of music, films, and other activities going on over the weekend, there is something for everyone to enjoy. We aim to show that regardless of the music you like, or where you come from, that we are all united under the anti-fascist banner.

The aim of the festival, since the start has been to bring people from the community and further afield to join together in solidarity against racism and fascism. To all stand together, as one, no matter who you are or where you come from. For a long time, anti-fascist and anti-racist benefit gigs and events have been very much part of a ‘clique’ and not engaging with people from different backgrounds and communities. We started the festival to change that, to have music from all over the world, people from all walks of life.

PREVIOUS;
0161 Festival began to bring people together, to create an anti-fascist festival that wasn’t just the same as it always has been, to have a mix of music and to have people come and travel from the world. We have been honoured to make so many new friends and comrades. And could not have got to this point without so much support from so many different people and groups. Over the past three years, it has been an absolute pleasure to have bands travel from all over the world, first U.K. performances for What We Feel, Moscow Death Brigade, Tommy Gun and more. We cannot thank people enough for everything we have managed to achieve. This is more than a festival, it is a movement. Of course, like any grassroots festival we have had our share of problems to overcome, and we have put procedures in place to make sure we do not make the same mistakes again. There is more people involved now and we are all working together to make sure we move onwards and upwards.
